It dates back to 2580 BC, which makes it older than 4500 years old and reached the peak of pyramid construction. It was constructed in 20 years using 2,300,000 pieces of limestone to reach the height of 147 m (481 ft), which made it the tallest building in the world for 3800 years until the construction of the Lincoln Cathedral in England in 1311 AD. Its interior complex design, compared to its size & magnitude, has grabbed the attention of countless people from all over the world.
The Great Sphinx is the solidification of might & wisdom and is the oldest statue in existence. It has a height of 73 m (240 ft) & 19 m (66 ft), and the shape of a mythical creature called the sphinx, which has the body of a lion and the head of a man, probably King Khafre a.k.a. King Chephren.

After its construction, it put the Abu Simbel and Philae Temple in danger but was miraculously saved by UNESCO in the 60s in the most challenging archeological rescue mission in human history.
The Unfinished Obelisk is a unique monument with no comparison; it was constructed by an order from Queen Hatshepsut (1508-1458 BC) to stand at the entrance of the Karnak temple with the Lateran obelisk that resides today at the Lateran Palace in Rome. The obelisk became known as "Tekhenu" which means to pierce the sky" & reached the height of 42 m and weighed 1200 tons, showcasing how exactly obelisks were constructed. The obelisk was cracked during construction and remained in the same place till today.

Edfu Temple is truly a special landmark as it is one of the last temples ever built during the Ptolemaic era between 237 BC & 57 BC to be the official worship house of the sky god Horus. The temple was constructed on the same site where the fight between the devil god Set and Horus happened according to Osiris Myth. The architecture & interior of the Edfu Temple is beautiful as it merges Greek and Egyptian design in the finest fashion.
Keep sailing to Luxor and spend the overnight on board. The dinner will be onboard the cruise.

In day five, enjoy your breakfast and check-out from the Nile Cruise then you will be accompanied by your tour guide & board a private air-conditioned vehicle to complete your 7 days tour through all of Luxor tourist attractions starting with:
Valley of the Kings is a tunnel to the afterlife and a staircase to the heavens for the greatest kings and queens of Egypt's New Kingdom (1570-1070 BC). It is probably the most important archaeological site in the world as it became a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1979. It contains 63 tombs filled with countless enchanting artifacts, decorations, and the remains of pharaohs like Ramses (I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, IX, X), Amenhotep I, Hatshepsut, and the famous boy-king Tutankhamun.
Hatshepsut Temple is the finest reflection of the allure & grandeur of the new Kingdom (1550-1070 BC) and showcases the great statue of one of the most successful rulers in the history of Ancient Egypt Queen Hatshepsut. The temple is called Deir El-Bahari and was once known as Djeser-Djeseru (Holy of Holies). It was designed in 1479 BC by Hatshepsut s chancellor Senenmut and took 15 years to construct & the design of the temple is based on the concept of Classical Architecture. It holds some of the most impressive decorations and statues in all of Egypt.
Colossi of Memnon is an ancient art piece protecting the city from all harm. The colossi consist of two colossal blocks of quartzite sandstone standing at the height of 18 m (60ft) weighing 720 tons each which has the shape of Amenhotep III(1386-1350). The colossi are quite damaged due to a large earthquake in 27 BC but were rebuilt again in 199 AD. The statues were famous during the Greco-Roman period as there used to be a rumor of The Vocal Memnon as the statues sang at dawn in a crying sound from time to time which was nothing more than the sound of the wind passing through the statue.
You will then have your lunch on an island as your tour includes a boat trip on the Nile river. Then end your tour in Luxor by visiting:

The Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa are a special piece of foreign art located in Egypt, as it represents the fusion of the ancient Egyptian culture during the Greco-Roman Period. It was constructed as a necropolis dating to the 2nd century AD, which was able to mix the artistic elements of the Hellenistic and Roman culture with ancient Egyptian Pharaonic design in the ultimate breathtaking fashion. It holds a great number of Greek and Roman artifacts and decorations in its three-level stories, which made it gain the title of one of the seven wonders of the Middle Ages.
Pompey's Pillar is a great pillar of ancient Roman times. It is the largest monolith column ever built outside of Rome and stands at a height of 28 m and is 2.7 m wide of pure red granite, and on its western upper side is a Greek inscription dedicated to Emperor Diocletian. The reason why it is named Pompey's pillar is that in the Middle Ages the crusaders mistakenly believed that the remains of the great Roman general Pompey are located in a pot at the top of the pillar.
Qaitbey Citadel is a special castle holding the spirit of Alexandria Lighthouse, it was constructed in 1477 by sultan Al-Ashraf Saif Al-Din Qa'it Bay to contain amazing Islamic decorations in the same location which contained the marvelous lighthouse of Alexandria using the stones salvaged from the destroyed lighthouse that served as the third longest surviving ancient wonder in the world until it's destruction by a series of earthquakes between 956 AD and 1323 AD.
